July 02, 2002 -- Looking for Gerbino cousins
Currently doing a "Rando" Genealogy which includes a "Grace Como" (born c.1915 in Sicily; daughter of Angela Rando Como; and grand daughter of Vita Gervasi and Giuseppe Rando. Grace Como married Frank Gerbino. They came to America for a short while but returned to Italy because of Frank's failing health. Grace & Frank Gerbino had two children (probably born in Milan, Italy)... a son, Camillo Gerbino and a daughter, Maria Gerbino. Maria married Antonio Erronte (probably in Milan, Italy).
Any information would be appreciated. Gaetana http://genforum.genealogy.com/gerbino/messages/4.html

I am trying to trace additional information about my grandparents.
My grandfather was Antonio (possibly Antonino) Gerbino who came to the U.S. from Sicily Italy in early the early 1900s probably through England and then Ellis Island (Ellis Island records have an Antonino Gerbino arriving from Sicily in 1905 although our family oral history says about 1901 so I am not sure it is a match).
He married Carolina Cuva who immigrated from Pettineo Sicily in 1915. At some point the family name was changed from Gerbino to Josbena (legend has it because of changes on immigration).
Can you provide any help in pointing me in the right direction? Thank you.

You might recall that I was trying to locate Jason Gerbino, a boyhood friend I knew well in New York back in the 1950s. Well, I found him living in Virginia, Jason apparently saw my request on your website and wrote to me. Thanks.

Hello Gerbino family and friends, as you all know, I had created two web sites, My Gerbino Search and Gerbinos On The Web in hopes of finding my paternal relatives.
I can now say that after 3 1/2 years of searching the internet and keeping records for each Gerbino name I found, I have finally Found ----- a link to my Gerbino relatives!!!!
In the guest book of 'My Gerbino Search' I received a message from someone claiming to be my first cousin. After several emails and more information, it's true, a first cousin was able to contact me and I'm learning about my background and best of all, my cousin and my sister and I are building a relationship.
I have to offer a very big THANK YOU to Nancy Gerbino of NY for all of her help with census pages and passenger ship manifests.
After confirmation of my grand mothers name, these documents have provided links to my Gerbino and Italian heritage. I found listings for my great grand parents, great uncles, grand par rents and, I have also learned that I have/ had 8 aunts and uncles and over 12 first cousins!!!
My hard work has produced results for my sister and I and we couldn't be happier!
I hope that my two web sites will also help others to find lost family and bring their backgrounds to light!!
Thank you so very much to all of you, that helped make my discovery possible!!!!!

I must thank you so much - without your help this would not have been possible - I am so glad you do all the hard work on the Gerbinos site. it has definitely paid off for me and I am delighted.

I sent Mike a letter to his home address and I explained in a page that
I was his daughter and I would like to be in contact. In a few days I had an email
from him; and since then we have emailed back and forth with questions for each other and are trying to get to know one another!
I am so ecstatic even though it's really early, but to have gotten this far is already more than I expected. Thank you so much, to you and your sister, and to your wonderful website. You gave me the inspiration to keep trying and the feeling that I am part of something big, the Gerbino Family!
Broken website links? PLEASE let me know!!
